Apple has announced that it has sold three million units of the iPad 3 since the launch on 16th of March. The iPad 3 has a brand new Retina Display, A5X chip, a 5 megapixel iSight camera which shoots 1080p HD video and is amazingly light and thin. The 4G LTE network is supported in the US and Canada, and fast networks around the world including the ones based on HSPA+ and DC-HSPDA. The press release continues after the break!
The third-generation tablet is a blockbuster with three million units sold and is the strongest iPad launch yet according to Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, Philip Schiller. Customers love the incredible features of the new device and even more customers wait to get their hands on it.

It is currently available in the US, Canada, France, Germany, Honk Kong, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Puerto Rico, UK, Switzerland and the US Virgin Islands and will be available in 24 more countries starting at 8:00 am local time on March 23, Friday through the online store, retail stores and selected authorized resellers, including Belgium, Austria, Bulgaria, Denmark, Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, Greece, Italy, Ireland, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, New Zealand, Mexico, Macau, The Netherlands, Poland, Norway, Romania, Portugal, Slovenia, Slovakia, Sweden and Spain.
Battery life depends on device settings, usage and other factors. 4G LTE is supported only AT&T and Verizon networks in the U.S. and on Bell, Rogers and Telus networks in Canada. Data plans are sold separately.
This is truly amazing that Apple has managed to sell 3 million iPad 3 in the first weekend. 3 times more than last year! There has already been 4 jailbreak exploits for the latest tablet.
